There’s over 50M daily transit commuters in India with metro being one of the most popular modes of daily urban commute. And yet, the online experience of metro ticket booking is still disjointed. With its simple, scalable and secure integration, ONDC is in a great position to address those pain points and introduce seamless mobility experience for its users.

Google Maps and Google Partner Innovation teams collaborated with ONDC and Namma Yatri to streamline the public transport experience on Google Maps.

Enabling Seamless User Experience

Users can now book their tickets by simply searching for public transport directions. guided through the booking and payment process powered by ONDC and Namma Yatri.

While designing the flows, Google Partner Innovation team focused on creating a design framework that enables quick scaling to new cities and allows new partners the flexibility of maintaining their branding.

Pilot in Kochi and Chennai

We are excited to announce that this metro booking experience in Google Maps is now live in Kochi and Chennai and soon will be scaled to more cities to eventually support metro ticket booking across India.
